God’s own people

Sasha looked at herself in the mirror and wondered if anyone would care to love her for what she is rather than what she looked like. Barely seventeen, she had no boyfriend.  She had learnt to live in her shell.  Sad, undemanding and unassuming,  she eventually had just a handful of selected friends but none from the opposite sex.  She had a huge birthmark that covered more than half her face.  At first glance, it looked as if she had been slapped across her face so hard that it had turned red.  Sasha had to live with it.  Rather she had to learn to live with it.

Sasha is just one example of a dejected and bitter teenager.  There are so many in this world going through rejection and dejection.  The reason being a physical deformity.  If man had a choice while being created, all would be beautiful.  Then beauty would have no value.  Since you had no hand in creating yourself, why blame and torture yourself with the thought?  Everyone is beautiful in their own way, all you need is eyes to perceive the beauty.

Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.  Therefore what I find beautiful may not be the same for another.  One cannot waste one’s life mourning over one’s deformity.  What about your strengths?  Are you going to waste it away?  So pull up your socks, stop feeling sad for yourself and do something worthwhile to feel happy and proud.  Even a faded flower leaves its essence behind.  You do not have to fade away before blooming.  Do the part that gives you utmost happiness, then you have achieved success.

Remember happiness and success are two sides of the same coin.  If we all appreciate the work and achievements of the worthy then physical beauty is secondary.  Be happy for what you are and what you do.

We are here in this world to make it a better place to live.  God has created us beautiful, you just have to make yourself useful.  Accept all with their deformities, whether physical or mental.  Do not punish them by isolating them thus driving them to do something drastic.  Always keep in mind that it is no fault of theirs – they are just God’s own creation.

This is a blessed message!!! We are all beautiful and we should just learn to see ourselves the way God does.
